heels of my dreams..

Oh Modcloth, why do you torture me so with your amazing dresses and shoes that I cannot afford? :(

$39.99 at Modcloth

(albeit, a reasonable price for shoes, especially on Modcloth, but I still can't afford them. lol)

artwork by Vivienne Strauss

My good friend Vivienne Strauss just debuted some new oil paintings on her flickr account yesterday, and I was completely blown away!! This might actually be one of my favorite paintings EVER, of any artist ever -- on etsy, in museums and galleries. I can't get over how much I love this painting.

If you aren't familiar with her work yet, you need to check it out. In the dictionary, next to "multi-talented" there is a photo of Vivienne. She has two etsy shops, one for her fantastic collages, and one for her amazing watercolors (and prints.) You can also view her sold work on flickr to see her previous works in gouache. Here are some more examples of her outstanding work!

The Art of Flower Arranging

Marion Clack with her dog Walter

Each autumn Myrtle Burnstein felt the urge to run away from home. She packed her suitcase over and over but never went anywhere.

Full title: Girard Boudreux directs his first production with Ballets de L'automne Legumes. They finally incorporated the costumes at dress rehearsal and there were many glitches that needed working out. The pumpkin and onion were both top heavy, the beet was suffering from serious stage fright and it was quite obvious that the radish (intended to be a minor role) was going to upstage the whole show.

(This one is my favorite!)

come hither dress

This dress is seriously making me wish I had some kind of huge art opening or fancy cocktail party to attend so I could justify shelling out $87.99 to make this gorgeous frock mine, all mine.

pincushion buttons

This jacket has huge pincushion buttons on the front, sleeves and shoulders! I've never seen anything like this before and it has me fascinated. I'm sure these buttons are just for show and there are some fabric covered snaps hiding behind them, but don't they make lovely embellishments?

Lots of new awesomeness

Since I'm a bit of a fashion dork, I check Forever 21's New Arrivals section every morning when I read my blogs and news.. I don't usually buy anything but I just love gawking at all the beautiful clothes.

This week they added some super-cute stuff that I had to share :) The pictures link to the items!

I didn't realize it at first, but I guess I'm really concentrating on black and white this year...

Trixie

I want this dress so much, it's painful, but it is out of my price range. :( It's absolutely resplendent in its 1920s-1930s charms though! Can't you just picture it with a matching cloche and a big, funky brooch?
